Tribute to James Hillman

James Hillman, one of the founders of archetypal psychology and perhaps the most important American psychologist of the 20th century, died on October 27, 2011, at the age of 85. Hillman played a critical role in the founding and growth of Pacifica Graduate Institute, where Dr. Carol S. Pearson is now President, and had a significant influence on her work and the development of the Pearson Archetypal System.

Dr. Pearson’s tribute to James Hillman is available here and, along with other tributes and a full obituary, on a memorial page on the Pacifica Graduate Institute website. The obituary that appeared in the New York Times can be found here.
